-Electro House
Not typically my style, but I’ve been down to jam to some weirder styles lately. This definitely gets real weird. If you’re looking for something a little different than what we usually post this is a good place to start. Dillon Francis is at Fur DC in November, prepare yourselves.

Video Feature
The official hour long feature on Ultra Music Festival is out now and can be seen for free for the next two weeks. This was really cool to watch, Ultra is truly the most incredible experience I’ve had in my life and I’m not sure I’ll be able to keep myself away this year and do something else for spring break. The video includes some great interviews with guys like Guetta, Armin, Tiesto etc. and is a great look behind the scenes at Ultra. Definitely worth the watch.

Electro/Dubstep/Hip-Hop
Ellie Goulding has made quite a name for herself so far in the electronic, as well as pop scene all over the world. Many will recognize her high-pitched vocals from Bassnectar’s remix to her single “Lights”. I really have come to admire her work and the talented British phenom, only being 25 years of age, is only scratching the surface to her full potential. This particular song has darker drops and synths in the background and has a lighter dubstep feel to it. Ms. Goulding really understands the music scene at this time and I’m an enormous fan. I also think that the Tinie Tempah bars towards the end of the song are unnecessary to be completely honest. All in all, this really is a great song and I have no doubt these vocals will be used in many remixes as we move towards the end of summer. Oh yeah, this song was released on Soundcloud only 12 hours ago and already has over 100,000 views. That alone in itself is amazing. Click the link below to listen to this gem on Soundcloud.

Skrillex recently wrapped up his South American tour and made a nice 13 minute video of the highlights. That. Looked. Absurd. Not only was that whole video crazy, but you can tell how much Skrillex enjoys playing those shows. As an added bonus, I think I just downloaded every song used as background music for it, so be sure to check that out.

Dubstep
Operation Dankstar has only just been introduced to my radar, but they bring a different sound than most dubstep. As I always said, and will continue to say, I’ve never been a fan of dubstep, but there are always those few songs that stick out there and there – this is one of them. Putting this track together for the Zedd Spectrum competition on Beatport, he stands out from a sea of submissions in my eyes and I hope he takes home one of the grand prizes. Check out the Zedd Spectrum competition here and visit his Soundcloud page here.
