New Concert Near UDel Campus
Laidback Luke is easily one of the most recognizable talents in the EDM industry, and yes, he is coming the the University of Delaware… On 4/20… He’s throwin down for the college kids as part of his Speak Up Tour, promoting his latest single, “Speak Up”, alongside the ever-popular Wynter Gordon, which was officially released this morning. Honestly, the HDM team was present for his incredible set at Fur and he brought the rain. But if my word isn’t enough, check it out: this guy is kicking off Miami Music week with a MixMash Pool Party at the National in Miami, stopping of at Ultra Music Festival, hitting the Ministry of Sound in London, playing shows everywhere in between, and finally landing on campus at UDel for a show at nearby Club Pulse on 4/20. If anyone here is confused as to how big of a deal that is, realize that this man is playing on two or three of the biggest stages in the world before coming to little old Delaware to bring the house down at Pulse. Tickets will go quick, and have already been on sale for some time, so anyone in the surrounding area (including UMD and any Philly schools) is encouraged to purchase a ticket ASAP, mark that date, and head to Newark, Del. for one god damn hell of a night. In case you’re skeptical of the venue, here’s a peak at the last event held there: Barstool Blackout Tour @ UDel. Enough said. Get tickets HERE! And get ready for the biggest show to come through Delaware yet!

Live Footage From Avicii Halloween Weekend
Probably the most disappointing and gut wrenching reality in my life today is that Halloween Weekend is over, and so is the Avicii rave. I’ve done my fair share of raving, and I’ve been to some pretty decent shows, but that Swede went in last night and put on one hell of a show. I’d often heard complaints about Avicii’s sound quality and song selections at his shows, but most everyone I’d heard these reviews from attended the same show in Philly last year. I guess he forgot to drink his coffee that night because he blew the god damn doors off Susquehana Bank Center with over two hours of his signature incredibly melodic breakdowns and leads and some booming bass lines that were much heavier than his typical style. I can’t tell you how happy that made me. Believe me, I would have been perfectly happy to jump around like a lunatic to all of Avicii’s huge hits, but nothin gets a rave going like some good old fashion dirty dutch bumping bass. He had that shit in surplus last night, and I don’t think I’ll walk or use my right arm for a week because of it. Waking up today and realizing the only thing I have to look forward to is turning 21 on Wednesday was a crushing realization because for weeks heading into this weekend all I could think about was getting swanky as hell at Avicii and sadly that moment in my life has come and gone. There’s a reason he was voted this year’s sixth best dj world-wide, and with several new id’s out waiting to be named and released there is no doubt his stock can only rise. If you’ve got the opportunity to see Avicii, do it. You’d be stupid not too. I can tell you right now that I’m going to lose sleep waiting for New Years in NY at Pier 94 where he’ll probably outdo his performance last night, but its all for the love of the rave. I’ll try and post some more videos later on, he played silhouettes and absolutely merked it so I’ll probably drop that one on you in due time. Till then, be easy HDM nation.
